Tips for making the best Thai chicken wings

These wings are easy to make but here are a few tips to make sure they turn out great every time:

  • Make sure to lay the chicken wings in a single layer on the baking sheet so they bake instead of steam. You may need to use two baking sheets for this.
  • Coat the wings in sauce evenly . Place the cooked wings in a large bowl, drizzle them in warm sauce, then use tongs to gently flip them and coat all the little nooks.
  • Enjoy them warm . Wings are one of those foods that are best enjoyed right away. As soon as they come out of the oven, sprinkle on your toppings, and dig in!

What to serve with Thai chicken wings

These Thai style chicken wings are a delicious snack or appetizer for game night or a Thai themed dinner party. Looking for a simple dinner idea? Turn them into a meal by serving them with our favorite coconut rice and some steamed broccoli!

What are the best kinds of chicken wings to use?

You can use any style of fresh chicken wings, such as the whole wings shown in the pictures or trimmed wings and drummettes.

Can I make them ahead of time?

Wings are best eaten warm, right out of the oven. If you want to get a head start, you can make the sauce ahead of time and store it in a container in the fridge for 1-2 days. Keep in mind the sauce will thicken in the fridge so you’ll want to warm it up (and add a splash of water or coconut milk) before using it.

How long do leftovers keep in the fridge?

Store any leftover chicken wings in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Are these Thai chicken wings spicy?

This really depends on how spicy your Thai curry paste is. If you’re unsure, start by adding a modest amount to the sauce and increasing the heat to your desired level. Keep in mind that the Thai sweet chili sauce also has a slight heat.
