If you love the flavor of coffee but could do without the crash, this creamy almond butter latte is one of my favorite ways to start the day. It’s a little like a bulletproof-style coffee, with almond butter, coconut oil, and collagen blended right into a hot cup of your favorite brew.

I love how rich and frothy it is — almost like a café latte, but made right at home. It’s cozy, satisfying, and feels like a small morning ritual I actually look forward to. And since it’s completely dairy-free, it fits easily into my everyday routine without sacrificing flavor.

Variations to try

It’s hard to be creative before coffee, so here are a few variation of this almond butter latte for you to try:

  • Almond butter date latte : switch up the sweetness and use 1-2 medjool dates instead of maple syrup.
  • Chocolate almond butter latte : add 1 tablespoon of cocoa or cacao powder to give this latte a decadent chocolate twist. You could even drizzle the top with a bit of chocolate sauce!
  • Raspberry almond butter latte : instead of maple syrup, use our raspberry simple syrup for a fruity twist that tastes a lot like PB&J!

What to serve with an almond butter latte

Enjoy this almond butter latte on its own as a pre-breakfast ritual, or alongside your favorite breakfast. Some of our favorite breakfasts are an egg white omlette or an almond butter oatmeal .

Wait, there’s no milk in this latte?

Nope! The almond butter makes this drink creamy and frothy so there’s no need for milk. This also means it is dairy-free but still full of latte flavor.

What’s the best kind of coffee to use?

You can use any brewed coffee. It can also be coffee from a french press, or if you have a Nespresso machine, one pod will do the trick.

Can I use a different nut butter?

Yep! While we love the taste of almond butter, cashew butter and tahini (sesame paste) make great alternatives.

Almond Butter Latte Recipe

Super Creamy Almond Butter Latte - 5

Ingredients

  • ▢ 1 cup hot brewed coffee
  • ▢ 1 tablespoon creamy almond butter
  • ▢ 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • ▢ 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • ▢ 1 scoop Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (see notes)
  • ▢ A pinch of cinnamon (to sprinkle on top)

Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients except the cinnamon into your blender. Put the lid on tightly, and blend on high until frothy, about 30 seconds. 1 cup hot brewed coffee, 1 tablespoon creamy almond butter, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon maple syrup, 1 scoop Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
  • Pour the latte into your mug and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top. A pinch of cinnamon
