Cream cheese mashed potatoes are the softest, most delicious mashed potatoes ever. If you want a real treat, this is the mashed potatoes recipe you want to make!

If you’ve ever wondered whether you can put cream cheese in mashed potatoes, the answer is a loud and enthusiastic yes. It melts into the hot potatoes, adding richness and a subtle tang that elevates this classic side dish.
Once you try mashed potatoes made this way, you may never go back to the traditional version. They turn out extra creamy, extra fluffy, and downright irresistible — the kind of potatoes that quietly steal the show at the dinner table and have everyone asking what your secret is.

Store, reheat, and freeze
Store: Transfer the cooled potatoes to a covered container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
Reheat: A microwave works great for reheating mashed potatoes. You can also reheat them gently on the stovetop, adding a splash of water to the pan.
Freeze: Potatoes never freeze well. While you technically can freeze mashed potatoes, their quality will degrade, so I don’t recommend it.
