Doesn’t eggnog syrup feel like it should be one of Elf’s main food groups? This sweet and spiced syrup is the perfect holiday drizzle over pancakes or French toast, or add some to your morning coffee!

This eggnog syrup has quickly become a holiday tradition in my kitchen. It’s warm, cozy, and full of classic seasonal flavor, combining pure maple syrup with eggnog, cinnamon, nutmeg, and just a hint of rum extract. With only three ingredients and about 10 minutes on the stove, it transforms an everyday breakfast into something festive and special.
Eggnog and maple syrup are both great on their own, but together they create something even better. The eggnog brings its signature creamy, spiced flavor, while the maple syrup adds richness and depth. I like adding a small splash of rum extract for a toasty finish—it’s optional, but it really rounds out the warm spice notes. If you prefer to skip it, the syrup is still delicious without.
I think of this eggnog syrup as a warm hug on a winter morning. I drizzle it over pancakes, waffles, or French toast whenever I want breakfast to feel a little more celebratory. Simple, comforting, and unmistakably festive, it’s one of those small holiday touches that make the season feel extra cozy.
