If you like simple smoothie recipes, this coconut milk smoothie is one I make on repeat. It’s made with just four ingredients—frozen berries, frozen banana, coconut milk, and a splash of water—but the flavor is anything but basic. The berries deliver a bright, fruity punch, while the coconut milk provides a rich, creamy base that makes every sip feel smooth and satisfying.

Using frozen fruit gives this smoothie a thick, frosty texture that I love, especially when paired with full-fat canned coconut milk. The banana adds natural sweetness and extra creaminess, and a little water helps everything blend up silky smooth. I’ll adjust the water to make it spoonable or sippable, but either way, it comes together in seconds.

I usually blend this up for breakfast, but it’s just as good later in the day when I want something quick and refreshing. If there’s any left after sharing with the family, I pour it into a mason jar and take it with me—it’s simple, flavorful, and always hits the spot.

Coconut milk smoothie add-ins

This basic banana coconut smoothie is delicious as-is, but it’s also very customizable. You can sneak in just about anything because the coconut flavor of the smoothie masks the flavor of other ingredients. Here are some of our favorite flavor add-ins:

  • Nut butter – peanut butter, almond butter, or even seed butter taste great in this smoothie.
  • Spinach or kale – get your daily dose of greens by adding them to your smoothie!
  • Seeds – chia seeds , hemp hearts, and ground flaxseeds tasty too.
