This chocolate chip walnut banana bread is dense, moist, and full of flavor. It’s hearty enough to pack in your bag for the perfect breakfast on the go, a satisfying snack, or anytime treat. It’s simple to make and ready in just over an hour!

There are days when only a slice of banana bread will do, and this classic version is exactly what I reach for. It’s simple and familiar, with plenty of sweet banana flavor, gooey chocolate chips, and just enough walnut crunch in every bite.
There are no fancy ingredients here — just a reliable, cozy loaf that’s perfect for slicing up any time of day. I love it as a quick breakfast on the go or as an afternoon treat with coffee.
If you’re already baking, it’s worth doubling the batch. One loaf to enjoy now, and one to freeze or share with a friend — though fair warning, it has a way of disappearing quickly.
Try serving this banana bread with a generous smear of homemade butter or a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream – you won’t regret it!

How to store
Banana bread will stay fresh on the counter, stored in a bag, for up to 5 days. If you know you won’t eat it all, slice it up and freeze it in a covered container. Leftovers freeze well for up to a month!
