Can’t travel to the Caribbean? Let the Caribbean travel to you! Say hello to this pretty, ocean-hued blue long island iced tea. Refreshing and postcard-pretty, it’s your ticket to enjoying a tropical beach holiday at home!

I’ve whipped up a little taste of island paradise, my friends. This blue Long Island iced tea is bright, refreshing, and packed with tropical vibes — the kind of drink that instantly feels like a mini getaway.
The twist here is blue curaçao, which adds a bittersweet citrus note and gives the cocktail that gorgeous ocean-blue hue. I also swap the traditional cola for ginger ale, keeping things lighter, fizzier, and extra refreshing. It still has all the classic Long Island energy, just with a sunnier, beachier feel.
Despite the longer ingredient list, it comes together effortlessly: shake everything with ice, pour, and you’re done. Blue curaçao (made from the bitter laraha citrus native to Curaçao) brings both flavor and fun — proof that a pretty drink really does taste better. If you’re craving a Long Island iced tea, this blue version is the vacation upgrade.

Can I make this without all the types of alcohol?
What glass should I use to serve this blue Long Island Iced Tea?
I serve these in tall highball glasses, like these ones, but they taste good in any vessel.
How do I scale this up to make a Long Island iced tea pitcher?
The easiest way to do this is to convert every ounce into a cup measurement. So, every time the recipe says half an ounce, use half a cup. This way, you’re keeping the same ratio on a larger scale. To make blue Long Island iced teas for a party, fill a pitcher with ice, add ½ cups of each liquor, 1 cup of blue curaçao, 1 cup of lemon juice, and 4 cups of ginger ale. Enjoy!
What else can I make with blue curaçao?
I have a few other blue curaçao recipes up my sleeve! Make these Tiffany mimosas or whip up a refreshing blue margarita .
