In this refreshing blackberry mojito, fresh muddled blackberries give the traditional drink a fruity twist. The berry’s sweet-tart flavor complements the mojito’s minty-lime taste. This ice-cold drink is the perfect way to make use of fresh blackberries and mint in peak season. Mix one up for yourself or fix a round for friends, sip back, and enjoy!

This blackberry mojito is summer in a glass—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced with a fruity twist. Juicy blackberries add a gentle sweetness and light tartness that pairs beautifully with cooling mint and bright lime, keeping all the classic mojito vibes while making it feel a little extra special. It’s refreshing without being sugary, crisp without being sharp, and exactly the kind of drink you want to sip on a warm afternoon or serve at a sunny get-together. You can also turn it into an easy mocktail by skipping the rum and topping it with soda for a just-as-refreshing, alcohol-free option.

The beauty of this drink is how simple it is to make. Fresh lime juice and mint are muddled with blackberries and sugar, then finished with white rum and bubbly soda for a light, ice-cold cocktail that goes down way too easily. It’s unfussy, fast to mix, and endlessly drinkable—perfect for celebrating blackberry season while it lasts.

the ingredients needed to make a Blackberry Mojito - 2

Do I need to strain it? While a traditional mojito is not strained, you’ll want to strain this one to remove the blackberry seeds.

Can I make a mojito ahead of time? Mojitos are best enjoyed right away. When ice melts, it dilutes the drink and alters its flavor.

Can I use any rum? White rum is traditional for a mojito, but any rum could work. A darker rum will, of course, make the drink a darker color and give it a fuller-bodied flavor.
